Today we start a new column on our press releases with probably only 1 edition! For all those looking forward to hear more from Emma, you will have to wait since this one was written by me, Guido.
This article is intended to help new managers improve on their job's management in order to use the minimum amount of resources and get the biggest profit.
Here are all jobs listed:
Job - DP loss - Days
Hired autograph signing - 2 - 2
Parade race - 10 - 4
Political campagin - 5 - 4
Presentation on sports - 3 - 2
Shop opening - 5 - 3
Training guidance - 2 - 3
TV spot - 1 - 4
So, the questions I made is: "what is the optimal job's order and how many riders should I use specifically for jobs?"
-----------
My conclusion was that 2 riders is borderline enough, but if you have enough space, 3 riders is easier to handle.
-----------
With 2 riders:
Rider 1:
- Parade race
- TV spot
- Training guidance
11 days (13 DP loss)
Rider 2:
- Political campaign
- Hired autograph sign
- Presentation on sports
- Shop opening
11 days (15 DP loss)
Each job takes 14 days after being finished to come up again, meaning that on the 18th day both the Parade race and the Political campaign jobs would show up again. This would give you around 4 days Race Break (to increase the DP) and 2 days to race 2 “practice low races” to increase the RS. If the calendar is good for you, you can even race those 2 races on the 17th day and have a 5 days’ rest.
2 races give you around 18 RS which is exactly what you need to keep the same RS at the start of each period.
2 races as practice low should take around 9 DP points from you. If we add that to the loss from rider 2 (15 DP), the rider loses 24 DP per period.
The minimum DP to start a job is 50. 4 days in RB with a starting DP of 50, gives you 22 DP.
This is enough for rider 1, but not for rider 2 (he loses 2 DP per period), so in the long term, this tactic won't work. Since the RS is not a problem, from time to time you could race only 1 race instead of 2, losing less DP making this formula work for longer.
------
With 2 riders:
Rider 1:
- Parade race
- Training guidance
7 days (12 DP loss)
Rider 2:
- Political campaign
- Shop opening
7 days (10 DP loss)
Rider 3:
- TV spot
- Hired autograph sign
- Presentation on sports
8 days (6 DP loss)
Here the period is still 18 days, no change (4 days from the first block of jobs + 14 days to recharge).
The advantage is that you have 10 days (for rider 1 and 2) and 9 days (for rider 3) without jobs, so the DP management is easier.
------
In the end, I only did this article as a support for me since I'm going to apply this tactic during my break from racing. I'll use the 3 rider's tactic since I have more than enough riders for that and it makes my life easier. The secret here is to act quickly, so a reminder when a job is finished and another for the start of each period is vital to make this all work smoothly (5 calendar entries each 18 days for both options is enough).
Thanks for listening,
Guido Tomé,
PR Manager

@mapei. Never knew that... I thought it was still as in the manual, although that's a riddle in itself.
@Yuri thanks for clearing that out. I thought about a 14 day cycle but indeed you will need to wait the 4 actual jobdays to let them show again. Ty.
Curious Silenzio that you brought the economics to this press release! I did a whole article about jobs and didn't even mentioned how much money it would mean per season.
If we do all the 7 jobs in the 18 days, we gain 18,5k (1.028$ per day).
This would result in 92,5k per season.
It also depends on each team. Volta captain can do jobs while being recharged, same goes for Essex, maybe even Two Pass...
99FR contributes 1 FR point with 100% TS.
It used to be about a lot more but most couldn't keep up and now we have this version, where the most important aspect of the game is out of your control.
Luckily its not all about economics :)
Ts does not hit the wind breaker, is that your assumption Virenque?
1 jobber can do parade + political campagin + presentation in 10 days (-18DP) for 11.5k. So you should be able to catch 69k with just one jobber (6x each season), assuming you can race him at the right times to keep him going. If not, still 60k. Added value of a second is 42-50k, quite considerable. Even for competing teams it
2 jobers and a wind breaker is the perfect setup imo.
That said I never had a pure WB, they always had some other stats trained and their TS was relevant.
